membership Awareness Months, September, October, November!
The COA membership committee realizes the key to recruiting prospective members is through our existing membership. To follow in line with this society-directed grassroots approach to membership recruitment the committee had developed the Be One Get One special member incentive program new for 2008!
Here’s how it works!
For each new eligible member you as a COA member recruits during membership awareness months (September/October/November 2008) you will receive a $50 Amazon.com gift card. Prizes will be awarded in January 2009 following the new member submitting their dues.
So while you are undertaking recruitment efforts, make sure the applicant lists YOUR name as the referring member on the application.
Entering is automatic and based on the applications the COA office receives.
Rules:
1) A “qualified” referral means that the new member recruited must be in a COA dues category and/or level that is at least 50% or more of full dues. Some examples include full members who were licensed in 2004 or after, partial practice, clinic, educator and military/federal service member types

2) To be considered eligible for the incentive program, the member’s name must be noted as the referring member on the membership application.
3) COA members may refer new members without regard to their local society affiliation.
4) The Be One Get One recruitment incentive is open to all COA members in good standing.
5) Reinstated members must be a nonmember for a full year or 12 months in order to qualify the referring member for the Be One Get One incentive.
6) Gift cards will be awarded after membership awareness months are completed to allow time for new members to pay their invoices, and for staff to verify eligibility requirements. Where can I get COA membership applications?
- ! COA Website (www.coavision.org): From the homepage of click on the “Join Now” button, you will be directed to the “Apply for Membership” page, from here you have access to a printable PDF version of the application or you can fill out the complete application and submit it directly online.
- ! Your Local Society: At your next local society meeting ask one of your local society
- officers if they have any hard copies of “How Membership Works for You” the COA membership application brochure.
- ! Materials Request Form: To request your own supply of membership application brochures visit the member’s only section of the COA website at www.coavision.org and go to the Member Resources section then to the Forms page. From here you can download and print a PDF copy of the Materials Request form. Send the completed form to fax (916) 448-1423 or via e-mail to lisaa@coavision.org.
Don’t forget to list your name as the referring member on the application!
